Overall this was a fun read but probably will not re-read in the future. While some of his log can come off as being cheesy, I try to think of how I would react in this situation and my logs would probably reflect the same thing. The dialogue of Mark's logs are a little rash, and this book is definitely not for a younger crowd, however Watney's perseverance was truly inspirational. That is my biggest criticism of this book, just felt like bad things kept happening one after the other and I thought maybe a few things should go right or just not even mentioned because it made it seem like a very planned out book versus reality. Another Page-Turner Science-Thriller by Andy Weir. His crew left him because they thought he was dead, but he makes sure you know he would have done the same. This book is about a man named Mark Watney that is trapped on Mars. Let me preface this with the fact that getting lost in space is my biggest fear, yet there is no chance of me ever being in space so I don't know why. The Martian (Best Adapted Screenplay For Your Consideration) by Drew Goddard Andy Weir and a great selection of related books, art and collectibles.
